Evacuation 6 raptors from Bandung

June 2013

Cikananga Rescue Team evacuating the nine raptors from the Nature Resource Conservation Office (BKSDA) Jawa Barat in 30th May 2013. These eagles are 4 Changeable Hawk-eagles (Spizaetus cirrhatus) and 2 Crested Serpent-eagles (Spilornis cheela) they were from confiscation of Forestry officer during the last 6 months of 2013.

We immediately did medical check up on them, all of them are not in the best condition and especially one is very skinny, dehydrated and sick and needed immediately medical care. They are housed now in our quarantine where they will stay for the next month to monitor them, test them on diseases etc.
All of them where captured from the wild out of the nest when they were still very young!

Now these eagles residing Cikananga Wildlife Center for having the rehabilitation before someday will be released to their natural habitat or translocated to habituation cage of in-situ rehabilitation center in Suaka Elang, Bogor.
